Hello there, friends! It's October, which means it's sweater weather here in Wisconsin! So for this post, I thought I would share with you a little bit about my projects from last month, and projects I will be working on for the entire month of October.

Projects from September:

1. Sidestitch Sweater by Wool Street Studio

- The Sidestitch Sweater is a gift for my sister. I knitted one for myself in June and I LOVE it! When she saw me in it, she immediately responded with "You should totally make me one!" I let her choose the color and I did the rest!

Yarn: We are Knitters The Cotton in "Light Grey"

Pattern: Unfortunately, this pattern can no longer be found on Ravelry. Luckily, I got a copy from a Insta friend. The pattern would've been free if it was still on Ravelry though!

-As I mentioned I really enjoyed this pattern! It's a super quick knit and the yarn was pretty good too! If you're looking for a quick knit, this was definitely the easiest sweater I have ever knitted.

2. Garter Stitch Baby Blanket

-Speaking of my sister, she told me that my nephew, her son, is going to be a big brother in January! If you know me, I love babies and I especially love making gifts for babies. Since my sister and I live far apart from each other, I knew one of the last times I will see her would be for my nephew's birthday party this coming weekend. I didn't have a lot of time to come up with a specific design, so I decided I was just going to garter stitch it out. After knitting my Sage Baby Blanket, I needed something that would be quick and easy for this month. I let her pick out the colors for this baby blanket as well and I am so excited to give it to her!

Yarn: Dream in Color Classy in "Amber Glass"

Pattern: Not Available. I don't have a pattern written out. But, if you decide you would like one, I would be happy to make a copy!

3. Fish for Nephew

-Okay, I guess you could call September the "Spoil my Sister" month. About a month ago, while at the library with my husband, I decided to check out this book called "Knit Your Own Pet". I honestly don't remember the author, but I decided to check it out because I was thinking about knitting some sort of animal for my nephew's birthday. When I asked her what my nephew's favorite animal was, she responded by saying fish. To make it even more fun, I decided to make four fish, two grey, one blue, and one pink; part of it as an homage to Dr. Seuss "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" and the other part is for when my sister reveals the gender of her baby!

Yarn: Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Sport Weight in "Dove Heather" and "Pink Heather" and Quince and Co Chickadee in "Delft"

Pattern: from "Knit Your Own Pet"

I don't have a picture of all of these projects individually, but here is a picture of them all taking a bath together with some swatches for my Sage Baby Blanket design premiering next week!

October Projects

Now onward to this month! This month, I have three projects plan to work on and finish by the end of this month. The deadline for each of these projects is November 1st, 2017.

1. Finish Bistro and Cucina Dish Towels

-One of my best friends is getting married in December! I'm so excited to see her get married! Whenever anybody gets married, I always make dish cloths. But, because the bride and her fiance are very close to my husband, I needed to up my game a little bit and make dish towels! The pattern comes with two dish towel patterns. I finished one of them in September and plan on finishing the second one this month.

Yarn: Knit Picks Cotlin yarn in "Pomegranate", "Surf" and "Whisker"

Pattern: "Bistro and Cucina Dish Towels" by CluckCluckBoots

Here's a progress shot on the Bistro towel I'm working on!

2. Brioche Scarf for Husband

-This is my first time brioche knitting ever! When we were on our honeymoon in Colorado, we were just a two minute walk from a local yarn store. Talk about best honeymoon ever! Needless to say, we walked to that yarn store a lot. I figured, since we were there, I would learn how to brioche knit, so I took my phone and looked up brioche knitting online. I'm starting with single color brioche for this scarf in the hopes that I'll actually use two-color for a future design. I totally see why everybody is obsessed with brioche!

Yarn: Mountain Meadow Wool Cody Sport in "Buckaroo Birthday" , purchased at The Stitchin' Den in Estes Park, Colorado

Pattern: N/A

The variety of colors in this yarn is amazing!! Just look at it!!

3. Sweater Design!!!

-I can't believe a week from now, I will be publishing my baby blanket design!!! Since I am a designer, one must design! Every design will be named after flowers and trees and plants. I'm not going to give any spoilers, but I will say that it will be green and simple and pretty! If you want to see some pictures, you MIGHT see some on my Instagram, just maybe though ;)

That's all I have planned for this month! Next month is going to be even more fun and I can't wait to share it all with you!

Also, tune in next week as I talk about my baby blanket design and finally get it out there on the internet!

AGH!!! I can't help but be excited! Even if I end up falling, I know this is something that God has led me into and I know that He will bless it!

Thank you so much for reading! Have a wonderful rest of your week!
