Hello, Friends! Welcome to the New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season! Christmas is always such a blessed time for family and friends to come together. I love taking that time with everyone and celebrating Jesus together! And ringing in the New Year is also ALWAYS a board-game, Pop Rocks-filled blast!
Speaking of the new year, I thought I would take this time to share with you what this new year will look like for me. As you all hopefully know now, I decided to dedicate the entire year of 2018 toward accepting commissions and knitting my own sweaters. Leading up to this year, fellow makers and I were planning our making goals for 2018. Using the hashtag #2018makenine, you get to see who is planning to make what this year. Since I am spending this entire year knitting sweaters, it is only appropriate for me to dub 2018 as the YEAR OF THE SWEATER! Even though I started designing, I need more experience. I need to improve my knitting skills by knitting designs that other people have knitted.

Middle (Left to Right): Ninilchik Swoncho by Caitlin Hunter, Parachutey Dress by Stephen West, and Camellia Tank by Karen Templer
Bottom (Left to Right): Whitehorse Sweater by Caitlin Hunter, Enchanted Mesa Sweater by Stephen West and Zweig Sweater by Caitlin Hunter
I'm so excited to knit all of these sweaters . I'm not sure if I'll be able to get all of these beautiful sweaters done before next year, but I hope I can! Though my main focus will be on commissions, it is important for me to take time for some, as people like to say, "selfish knitting", meaning knitting something for you to enjoy. While I enjoy knitting as a whole, I need to knit things for myself in order to remember that I do love knitting, that it is a gift God has given me.
Speaking of commissions, January is already booked for me! Along with knitting one of my many sweaters for this year, I will be knitting a commission piece for my step mother-in-law along with knitting the Find Your Fade shawl. I'm so excited to work on all of these projects. Moreover, I'm excited to see how God will use me this year in my year of making.

Thank you for taking time to read this post! It's not a lot, but I'm so thankful to be on this journey and more thankful to have friends and family who are encouraging and supporting me in anything that God may call me to do.
With Love,
Amanda
